# Lighter Public Pools

> Centaur-operated trading vaults on Lighter that trade on the basis of public trader signals.

Centaur Strategies are public trading pools ("vaults") operated by Centaur on the [Lighter](https://lighter.xyz) perpetuals exchange. Each vault is anchored to a single public trader tracked by Centaur. The vault trades **Centaur's own interpretation** of that trader's public signals, not a copy of the trader's actual book.

The vaults are a live, capital-at-risk expression of what Centaur does: turn unstructured public trader activity into structured, actionable positions.

## What a vault does

1. **Tracks one trader.** Centaur monitors the trader's public posts and extracts trade signals through its extraction pipeline.
2. **Interprets the signal.** Centaur decides which signals to act on, how to express them on Lighter, and how to size and risk-manage them. Some vaults invert the signal rather than follow it.
3. **Trades on Lighter.** Positions are opened and managed inside the vault. Depositors share pro rata in the vault's P\&L.
4. **Publishes its reasoning.** Each vault has a page documenting why its trades were taken.
